Families are invited to attend school tours and meet with our Principal to ask questions, learn more about life at Highview College, and explore our campus. These visits provide an opportunity to gain a clear understanding of our programs, values, and the many opportunities available to students. The tours are proudly supported by our student leaders, who guide families through the school, share their own experiences, and help future students feel welcome.
After a family has submitted their enrolment application they will be invited to an interview with the College Principal. This is an opportunity for the student to share their personal strengths and hopes for their future and for the College to learn more about the student and their family.
Throughout Terms 3 and 4, our Director of Wellbeing and Transition Coordinator visit feeder primary schools to work closely with students, families, and school staff. This important collaboration helps us understand each child’s strengths, interests, learning needs, and any supports that may assist them in settling successfully into high school. We aim for each student to feel a strong sense of belonging from day one.
Before commencing Year 7, students are invited to attend two transition days with us:Experience Day – OctoberA special day where students can experience life as a Highview student. They will take part in fun campus activities, meet staff and peers, and sample some of the classes they may undertake in Year 7.
Statewide Orientation Day – DecemberStudents return to Highview College for the official statewide orientation day. This is another valuable opportunity to build confidence, meet their DELTA class and teacher, and be welcomed into their House community.
Both days are supported by our student leaders, who help run activities, mentor new students, and ensure everyone feels comfortable and included.
