Strategic Plan for 2025 and Beyond

Strategic Priority – Educator of Choice

High quality education is at our core. Through a focus on four key strategic objectives, we will deliver high quality education to suit a range of career pathways and aspirations. Parents and students will know the positive impact Highview College can have on their lives – we will be the Educator of Choice in the region.

1. Communications
   We will build awareness of our school and foster a sense of pride.
2. Excellence in learning & teaching
   We will invest in the educational experience to ensure it is purposeful and challenging, preparing students for a changing career landscape.
3. Student wellbeing
   We will care for all students holistically.
4. Infrastructure
   We will maximise the use of our infrastructure to support our educational goals.

Strategic Priority – Employer of Choice

Our people are a critical element in our success. We will focus on all parts of the staff journey with us from attracting the best talent and induction through to retention and ongoing staff development. We want our staff to feel challenged, valued and rewarded and look at Highview College as the ideal place to develop their careers. Simply, we want to be an Employer of Choice.

   We will develop creative approaches to attract and support the best talent.

   We will have a robust induction process.
3. Retain
   We will provide clarity to our staff, ensure they are celebrated & rewarded and provide work benefits beyond salary.
4. Develop
   We will encourage and support professional development that fosters professional capacity, innovation and staff wellbeing to prepare our teachers for what lies ahead.

Strategic Priority – Community Partner of Choice

We are a key part of the community, and the community is a key part of us – we share in success. Through a process of connection, service and generosity we will strengthen our relationship with the local community and create opportunities for our students, families and those in the wider community. We will play our part in building the prosperity of Maryborough and become a Community Partner of Choice.

1. Connection
   We will continue to build our relationships between parent/guardian/carers, community groups and our Alumni.
2. Service
   We will encourage a service mindset amongst our students and support our community through service.
3. Generosity
   We will support our community through giving.
