Principal's Message

julie.pngHighview Christian Community College is an independent, low-fee, secondary day school for boys and girls in central Victoria with an enrolment of nearly 500 students

Established in 1974, it was Australia's first Ecumenical School.  Highview, a member of the Victorian Ecumenical System of Schools, is governed by the College Board with representatives from the Anglican, Catholic and Uniting Churches and the Church of Christ. We are a genuinely accessible school in which staff, students and the community interact to foster optimal growth of the whole individual.  We challenge and encourage our students to grow and develop intellectually, physically, creatively, emotionally and spiritually.  It is hoped they start to develop a sense of purpose for their own life journeys through exposure to a wide range of educational experiences.

As an Ecumenical school, Christian values are fundamental to the way in which we build our community and provide our education, so there is a high priority given to the spiritual dimension of individual growth. The pastoral support received by all students reflects our philosophy that we play an important role in the development of their individual gifts and talents, their self-image, social and environmental conscience and a sense of belonging to a community.

With increasing enrolments Highview College looks forward to providing the people of Maryborough and central Victoria with an excellent ecumenical and independent alternative in education well into the 21st century.
