Highview College

Gifted, talented and academically able students are provided with several means of developing their particular talents at Highview.. Where appropriate, special programs are arrange to assist the development of each student’s special needs e.g. a talented writer has been assisted to attend a week-end workshop run by well known children’s author. Students may choose the Private Research option where a mentor oversees a self-developed project completed in place of one other elective subject. A range of extra curricula options also provides opportunities for talented students to further their skills. These include the yearly musical/drama production for talented performers, Student Involvement Groups fostering leadership skills, the College magazine for budding journalists, and regular involvement of the College in Local, State and National competitions such as "Youth Speaks for Australia", the "Tournament of Minds", Maths, Science and Language Competitions etc.
